WeHonest (eBay) street lights?

I’ve been looking over eBay for street lights (to see what is out there) and stumbled upon some lights sold by: wehonest_cn

Here is a link to some of their lights:

The prices are great for the amount of lights you receive. However I’m wondering how well made the lights are. They are from China, but then again so are most of the higher priced street lights from the major HO scale manufacturers.

I’m not expecting anything with great detail or great assembly for the price. But I’m also not really looking for ultra detailed and expensive per item street lights. Basically just something that lights up and looks like a street light. And if the colors are a little strange, I can always paint them.

Has anyone purchased any of these lights for use on your layout? If so, what do you think?

Matt,

I have bought lot’s of servo motors and HO trees from several of these Chinese eBay vendors - very fast shipping! I have never had a problem.

Jim

I’ve never purchased anything from this seller, because I don’t buy anything that ships directly from China. Just my personal preference…

Matt,

Sent you a PM…

Tom

I have purchased a number of items, trees, lights and fencing from this vendor. Quick delivery.

The lamps I bought were the old time ornamental street lights. The detail on the lights is good, the finish is good. The lights are as good if not better than what I have seen in hobby shops.

I wired a number of these onto my layout and they have lasted for over a year to date.

I would have spent a lot more had I purchased these items elsewhere.

I do not think you will regret your purchase.

Thank you for all the replies. Useful info as always [:D]

I have bought some of there trees and no issue with shipping. There name cracked me up, but you will remember it!

and, what items are you looking at ? they do look nice

I see he offers differant voltages what would be the default voltage for HO 12volt ? …Jerry

Is there any custom fees?

12 V normally, although many people run their lamps at a bit lower voltage to lengthen the life of the bulb (I’m assuming these are incadenscent bulbs and not LEDs or anything).
Wow, it just hit me that they are selling lamps 20 for US$16.00, about the same price Walthers would charge you for (1) one MSRP. They are not that detailed, but would be good for background EXCEPT the vendors claim OO/HO scale - since OO is 1:76 vs 1:87, would these lamps scale out too big for the mid-ground./background?

Some say HO / OO and some just say HO. Hey, there honest! [:-^]

I have bought only Palm trees from these guyson their eBay store. I needed quantities and the plastic trees the sellers in China have suit my layout fine. They ship fast and cheaply and the trees look good after some detail painting and shading. Although I don’t need any of their lights right now if I did I need lights I would buy from them without a second thought.

So long.

Dusty.

Just curious :has any ordered LIGHTS from here ?..Jerry

Um, let’s watch it here, fellas… I had to remove and edit several posts for being ethnically offensive. [:$]

I’ve installed 20 of the dual LED streetlights from wehonest, and a friend asked me to order 20 more for him. Shipment in both cases was very promt via U.S. Postal Service and there were no customs duties to pay.

Yes after reading some good things here, I went ahead and ordered 50 HO scale streetlights and 15 park benches.

These are the lights I got:

And these are the benches I got:

Park Benches

Prompt shipping and ultra affordable.

The lights and benches are pretty nice for the price. I’m in the process of painting the lights.

Here’s a picture of some lights getting painted and a few of the benches with a Preiser figure to compare scale:

Oh and they come with resistors depending on what voltage you plan to run them on. Just let them know what voltage (12 volts in my case) and they’ll add the proper resistors free.

So all in all I’m very happy with them.

I have a few Chinese e-bay vendors saved as favorite vendors. 100 trees, or 100 figures, or 10 light poles for $10. May not be detailed enough for closeup shots at the front of the layout, but my layout (N-scale) follows the 3-foot rule. It’s better than paying 10 times as much for a vendor that gets them from China anyway. Fast shipping, no tax or customs charges.

I would hope that besides deleting these posts those senders gets banned for a while.

Just for my benefit, what did the OP do wrong? I wouldn’t want to unknowingly repeat his mistake.

My typo error, I meant the posters of those threads that were deleted and not the OP of the this thread.
