Welcome to Jeffrey's Trackside Diner for January 2020: New York, N.Y.

You mentioned, Brent, that somehow you have the quartering off? That means the wheel has twisted on the axle, yes?

At least you have a working model and an exploded diagram to work with. Can you describe (photos, too?) what is exactly hanging you up?

Maybe start another thread so the Diner patrons don’t get too bored.

I was finally running my one Royal Hudson last night. All seems fine [8D]

Good Luck, Ed

Don’t get me wrong I would have never wished to be a civil engineer in my life if I could have been. My Grandmother would have paid for it but I heard the stress was too high.

They are beautiful

In the middle of the Ozark Mountains Christmas Day 2018

In case anybody is wondering the picture didn’t spread far enough there were 12

TF

You could be an uncivil engineer [:-^]

Happy Modeling! Ed

Those are the guys who design the highways.

I don’t know. … Maybe it depends on where you are. We have been in this location for about 20 years and the worst storms were about 10 years ago here. I’ve lived other places in my many years, and I recall storms happening throughout my life. … It does seem like the news media in recent years tend to overstate the magnitude of storms. Maybe, that is how they try to get more readers or listeners.

You guys are killing me

I guess that’s why I’m here and why I love to be here

I just love you guys because you’re all good

TF

Rob … Good to see you! Glad to hear the old railroad will be resurrected.

Brent, TF, and Ed … Nice photos !

.

It sure does depend on where you are. In my lifetime in Florida, the worst years were 2004/2005 when we were hit by Huricanes Charley, Frances, Ivan, and Jean all in one year. Then in 2005 it was Dennis, Katrina, and Wilma.

.

Since then we have been pretty quiet.

.

.

The way Hurricane Irma was described in the media when it was approaching Florida was nearly criminal. If we ever get together again, I could tell you some interesting stories about Irma.

Thanks Garry

I have my Judy home now and I like it

Life is easier with my Judy believe me it is

Just to let you know I got her back home from wxxk and we’re all good here[Y]

Annamaria can handle a Fishbowl Bus with the best of 'em! I don’t recall any bus drivers like her when I was riding public transportation [:-^]

I’d enjoy visiting this museum someday [Y]

There used to be a cat that called this place home. I wonder if he’s still around the subway “cat-a-combs”?

I guess he retired. Hope he got a good pension.

Regards, Ed

Life is easier with bridges or looking down the tracks

Much easier[swg]

Yes, I was telling TF my favorite album and then my favorite song, not necessarily on that album. I really think The Doors hit their peak on the LA Woman album, even though the song LA Woman is not my favorite.

“The End” was the song that really got me onto The Doors.

One late night, probably 1:00 a.m., I was driving part of a 400 mile stretch. I found the station KOMA from Oklahoma City, and I heard The End for the first time. I was hooked.

A college friend and I used to play Doors songs on twin keyboards. I should have been studying.

I like Riders on the Storm

Through this house were born, into this world were thrown sums up my life

After a rough ride my life ended up good and that’s all you can ask

That’s why my favorite Doors song is Riders on the Storm

TF

TF, since we’re talking music and not RRs, I have one more comment, and then I’ll be quiet.

I have always been a Beach Boys fan, even in my unfortunate hippie years. I still love to sing along with any Beach Boys song on the radio.

I was amazed to hear that the Beatles’ album, “Sgt. Pepper’s…” was inspired by the Beach Boys’ “Pet Sounds” album. Many people believe the Beatles’ “Pepper” album was their best, and those same people don’t give Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys the credit they deserve.

.

As orignally conceived, Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was supposed to include Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields.

.

I heard an interview with Paul McCartney once where he said he drew on Beach Boys influences when writing Penny Lane. I did not know that about the entire Sgt. Pepper album.

.

After I heard that interview, and listened to Penny Lane, you really sort of can hear a Beach Boys song embedded in there.

Eveing Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a [B] please and Dirk half dog treat.

Boy 4 days can blow by fast when you are semi retired.

Only real thing I got done was fixing a leaky bathroom fauct. What took me so long was I could not get the plastic cap off the handel? I did the other one say 6 to 8 years ago and don’t remember it being a problem? I have been messing with this for a month on and off, manily off.

So today I said the heck with this and used a small drill bit to drill the plastic cap off. Drill Bit pulled the sucker right off and did not destroy it. Ok,it has a small hole but you have to look for it. After that it took me maybe 5 minutes for replacing the warsher. Funny not to hearing the drip, drip, drip.

Dirk Pip was very Loving toward me today. After breakfest him and I watched DYI TV for 2 hours. Well the battery pack for the drill was dead so I had the time to kill anyway.

Tonight I walked him another quarter mile not because I had to, but I wanted to. Both him and I need the exercise. Maybe be Monday before work I will walk him around the neighborhood.

The diesel ran great to tonight and Dirk say’s Woof, Woof Ken

I moved and lived in California when I was very young

I met one of the Beach Boys when I was down there and didn’t think anything of it If that’s your thing you’re all good

My thing was I always wanted meet David Gilmour

My boss’s parents met him because they live in his neighborhood in England

Through my boss and hearing about it was almost good enough for me

I will never meet David Gilmour of Pink Floyd and you will never meet anyone from the Beach Boys and that’s just the way it is

What are you going to do though

TF

I did meet The Oak Ridge Boys though

My brother did a photoshoot for his job at Mystic Lake Casino when the band played there

That was kind of cool but The Oak Ridge Boys weren’t one of my big heroes

Maybe you will meet one of the Beach Boys

They ain’t as big as they used to be maybe you will

TF

I was just sitting down here and my Queen brought me a splash of Glenlivet! She said it cost way more than the Glenfiddich and I think it is much smoother and I like it better.

The Canucks dispatched the Wild 4-1 and then we did a quick 7 km with he dogs coming in with the dark. There was a movie/TV set going up for tomorrow, not sure what it was for.

I regret getting sucked into the anti-China loco thread, while I am no fan of the country I feel they unfairly singled out, nuff said.

Maybe the reason I am easily rattled today is my Sister and her flip flops of convenience. Her nephew is 48 and just came out of the closet about being gay. When he was a young teenager I suspected he was gay and told my sister so. When he grew up he moved away and I said it was so he could pursue his life without the rath of his family. She denied it all and use to be a gay hater. Well now everything is peachy keen with him coming out which is good. Too bad she couldn’t have done that along with his family before he had to move away.

Ed, I may take you up on the Fixing the Royal Hudson thread. All that gear on the sides makes me think twice about tackling the job. I guess it is just more parts to send to Rapido when the time comes.[(-D]

Dinner bell!
