Howdy.

We had a short visit with family in southern Ohio. Now we are with family In Michigan.

Happy birthday Garry[bday]

Happy birthday Harrison[bday]

I went to a car show today in Hugo.

The picture of the caboose was most important on the way back.

I parked near it,…I figured why not kill two birds with one stone. The Caboose and the Mach[Y]

I’ll stop by for some Spanish rice with you guys later[:)]

Eveing Diners

Flo, give the gang and I a [B] please.

Harrison (I hope) [bday] Getting old sucks.

York I still have a car I had in High School, 1968 Road Runner that Mom and Dad bought when I was 12 years old.

Life with Dirk Pip the American Eskimo. Yes I am a Clive Clusser fan and Pip by it self sounded to feminine to me! Drik Pip sounds good to him and I, wife hates it so it is a win win. [(-D]

Funny Dirk Pip story. He would not eat the food the rescue sent home with him. He would eat the food that Sparike left behind but not his? People food, well [Y] and because Sparkie could not anything besides is speical food we gave in a little to Dirk Pip.

So tonight I trick him. I acted like I was eating his food. Held it up to my mouth made yum, yum sounds then offred it to him and he ate it! After about 5 times I gave him the bowl and he cleaned it out! [:D] All so no more people food! Yea we knew we should not have but Sparkie could not even have dog treats with his stomach problems.

Later, none smoking Ken

I wasn’t in Spain but here’s my ship captain from a few weekends ago in Duluth.

We tip everyone, even the ship Captain and we don’t take no for an answer.

TF

And do you see that sparkling face on my Judy, … I do, I’m a lucky man.

Kevin,

Congratulations! Five thousand posts in 2 1/2 years is nothing to sneeze at! I’m at 9900 posts in 13 years and I thought I was talkative![swg][(-D][:D]

If we don’t post, the forums die, and I wouldn’t want that to happen. I look forward to reading the forums every day! My thanks to Model Railroader for hosting them!

Cheers!!

Dave

Happy Birthday and Anniversary Garry & Mrs.

Happy Birthday Harrison, Glad to have you aboard the Diner.

Ulrich always Glad when you are around.

Ken, Good for you taking a Rescue, and may you have a good long enjoyable ride with him. I know he will be treated well.

Prayers and Blessings for all those on the Eastern Seaboard, keep your rubber boots on and dry and your Tilley hats pulled down. Hoping for the best for you all.

BTW., Track Fiddler, are you and the Captain holding hands behind your wife’s back. ??? Yust Yocking…

Dave, you are a big talker with 9900 posts in 13 years, I’m only at just shy of 2200 in those same 13 years

No news here right now, other than medical appointments.

Johnboy out, and heading for the streacher for a few ZZZzzzsss…

Ya, I’m trying to learn when to shut my mouth. When I first started to post I considered myself to be a font of information! It took being corrected for more than a few gaffes for me to realize that I need to restrict my offerings of advice to only those situations where I was certain that I knew what I was talking about. I’m not sure that I have fully learned that lesson yet![:$]

[bday] Harrison and Garry. [bday]

Birthday and Anniversary Wishes to Garry! [^] [Y]

Happy Birthday to you as well, Harrison! [bday]

Jimmy, I got the books packaged and ready to be picked up by USPS. Sent you a PM with the tracking number. Hope they get to you OK and I hope you enjoy reading them. Books are a great pleasure.

Ken, it has been a while since I read Clive Cussler. Isn’t his name Dirk Pitt? When I hear Dirk Pip I think of Pippy Longstockings [oX)]

I believe Mr. Otte will be pleased that we were all very well behaved in the Diner this weekend. Maybe he will grace us with a generous and tasty breakfast [dinner]

Cheers, Ed

Tiempo para almorzar!

Flo, una hamburguesa con papas fritas, por favor! Y tráeme una cerveza!

Let´s go on a short trip to the Balearic Island of Mallorca and ride the 3ft. gauge train from Palma de Mallorca to Soler!

The line was electrified in 1911 by Siemens and still runs the electric rail cars from trthat time!

I can´t believe I missed his fantastic train ride when I spent a vacation there!

Congrats on 5,000 posts, Kevin, and keep 'em coming! [tup]

Happy Birthday and a Happy Anniversary to you and your wife, Garry, and Happy Birthday to you, Harrison! [bday]

TF: Your red Mustang brings back memories. My buddy Joey had one just like it when we were in High School, 35 years ago! I am so old.

I am actually pretty quiet in here. Back on the WARSEER Wargaming Forum I would average 20-30 posts a day. I used to run tournaments for Warhammer, Flames Of War, and Johnny Reb. I was considered a pretty good source of rules intepretations (most of the time). And as a multiple award-winning figure painter, I had a lot to say about that too.

.

Wow congratulations Kevin on 5000 posts!

I haven’t really been on the forums much in the past two months, but we’re I am school has started again and that means a more regular schedule. Somehow this equals more time on the forums, even if I have less free time it seems… not qui sure how that works!

I think I too learmed the same lesson as Dave. I feel like I did have to learn that you can post on every thread! Initiatlly I posted everywhere and found sometimes my posts lacked value and contained inaccuracies. Now I try to give some though before I post as to think if the post contains some value. At the same time however I do think we do need to post some less helpful comments to help keep the forums alive and give others with more nowledge somewhere to start.

As a quick update in the past few weeks I’ve added some boards to the 4x8 board I use as a train table to keep it from warping. I am somewhat excited as this will eventually allow me to add more feeder wires to improve the operation of my layout.

Spain is an interesting place to put the Diner! I don’t much about Spain but I do know it’s the origin of the Amtrak Cascades Talgo trains! I do really like those corridor trains!

Kevin, high school 35 years ago and you’re old? Just wait. I just got invited to our high school’s 50th. Now that’s old!

Ed, Hopper’s my favorite artist, and the diner in “Nighthawks” is my favorite of all his paintings. I have seen only a few of his works in museums, but his style and his subjects all appeal to me for some reason.

Ulrich, I envy you with all of your travels. You have seen many places I will see only in pictures.

Congratulations on all the milestones: Harrison-birthday, Garry-birthday, anniversary, Kevin-computer posts, Ken-new dog.

I don’t have any milestones to report. Another great day of retirement and working on the railroad. I have to cut the grass, but I’m practicing not complaining about it. I love cutting grass, I love cutting grass, I love cutting grass… it’s not working yet.

Have a great day, everyone!

If Ospreys you want to see, you cannot beat the coast line around Camp LeJeune!

ROARING !!!

Most of my travelling was done on business with very little time to get a taste of the land. Hotels are hotels, airports are airports - regardless of where they are. Only the food varies - and only slightly, if you eat in the “renowned” places.

Nothing to be envious about.

Kevin. I remember my friend Joe in high school 37 years ago, where did the time go? He had a black 70 440 Cuda with a 6 pack on it. I thought that car was almost too powerful back then if there is such a thing.

Joe let me drive it once, it felt dangerous, almost a bit too scary to enjoy[(-D] Fun though.
