You know the old saying “slap a gift horse in the mouth” was rekindled in my mind this morning. We are at the very tail end of getting rid of our storage facility finally.
A perfectly good gently used Maytag washer and dryer is in the very back and we are trying to donate it so it can benefit a needy family.
The difficulty of forms to fill out on the internet and jumping through hoops has got me to the point where I’m just ready to take it to the city landfill and pay you to get rid of it and is probably what I’m going to end up doing now.
The washer and dryer looks darn near brand new and worked perfectly before it was put in a climate controlled storage facility, …What a shame. She’s a barn burner!

Hi Everyone,
I enjoy seeing some of those album covers with trains on them. Brings back some memories.
Here, just for fun, is the Yardbirds. This was whenJeff Beck was playing lead and possibly Jimmy Page playing bass. I think that by this time Samwell-Smith had gone to producing, but it was either him or Page. Long enough ago that I kinda forgot. Too bad I couldnt find the scene in the movie “Blow Up” where they play this song.
Yes, I know, Aerosmith covered this song, but I just prefer this version.
Enjoy!
well so far so good, no wasting away in cornaville.
Co-worker is super sore and has sore throat but now no other symptoms.
His wife has lost taste and smell. ( they both have it)
They are doing OK otherwise.
Our office is all like spraying the lysol. [+o(]
I am going down to Southern Command for the week end.
We have a little painting to do. the rest is relax.
Good Morning,
Well I’ve been away for awhile thanks to my internet ‘provider’. Our service stopped on Aug. 27 and we just got it back on Tuesday. We had 5 service calls out. The problem was a short in the underground wiring that took days to fix and then more problems, not sure what but I spent hours on the phone with them, trying to hook up a new modem, then that didn’t work. Magically it all was resolved. In the meantime I had a new modem sent out from our TV provider that operates on a different system. I just got it and have yet to set it up. No instructions came in the box as you are supposed to do it on your smart phone with an app. We don’t have a smart phone so I’ll be back on the real phone again today. They also didn’t sent the co-ax splitter I requested. Talk about frustration.
Sad to hear about Ulrich’s eyesight. I have glaucoma but it was diagnosed early so it is under control. I have a fear of losing sight too.
I picked up the CP Hudson from my brass guru last night. He lubed it, repaired a handrail, changed the lights to LED and installed a motion decoder all for $80. He did confirm this engine was the last run from Van Hobbies from the late '90s. He said that even though I paid a lot, it was a fair price and that I won’t lose anything on it. It is in the ‘premium’ brass category. I dropped off the J4e Pacific. I may put sound in this one if it runs ok. It is a small Pacific and it will run on my sharp curves just fine. The real one had 69" drivers.
Not much else is new here. We had frost a couple of nights ago. We covered the flowers and good thing we did as a few that weren’t are no more.
Perogies are a food that I had never had until an adult even though they are very popular in my city. We have a large Polish and Ukrainian population. My wife’s grandmother was Polish and made the best ones I have ever tasted. My wife was raised on them and she shudders when
When I started the garage remodel, we had a washer and dryer that were in perfectly serviceable like-new condition. We knew that we were buying new, so we tried to donate them to Habitat For Humanity.
I feel your pain. It was such a process that I just put them out by the curb with a cardboard “FREE” sign on them.
I guy drove buy in a pickup/trailer full of scrap metal and loaded them up. He might have gotten $20.00 for them.
What a waste.
Thanks for the enjoyable tune, let me try to embed the video.
That is good news. I hope you get through it with nothing serious happening.
I chose that knife because it was the best reviewed knife that was 100% dishwasher safe. I know there are better knives, but I am not up to having a knife-care regimen added to my chores.
The price was reasonable too. So far I am quite happy with it.
I have owned a couple of Victorinox pocket knives, and they were top quality.

Has anyone had someone attempt to scam them recently?
I advertized some car parts for sale on the internet and I got an e-mail saying that they wanted to buy the parts. Great!! Or so I thought. The asking price was $300.00.
The buyer then proceeded to explain to me that they were going to send me a bank draft for $2400.00, and I was to deposit the $2400.00, withdraw the money, take my $300.00, and then give the rest to the “Transporter” who would pick the parts up. During the whole affair, the ‘buyer’ insisted on the utmost urgency in depositing the bank draft, getting the cash, and arranging for the pickup. By the way, their English language skills were severely lacking.

Just so you know, there would not ever be any attempt to pick anything up. These guys wil go far enough to send you the bogus chequeHi Lastspikemike,
So how will they try to collect the money?
Dave
I think it best if I do not explain on a publicly accessible website how these scams actually work.
There really is no mystery to all of this. Were Dave to act and deposit the bank draft at his local bank and withdraw $2,400,
Got the word that my teenage years’ movie star obsession, Diana Rigg, died today. She starred in my all-time favorite TV show, The Avengers.
R.I.P., Diana Rigg. That show was a favorite of mine, too. Along with another British show, The Prisoner.
As a teenager Dianna Rigg was hot. I’ve always been fond of the British accent, expecially so in attractive women. Odd in this day and age, there must still be a stigma of cancer, because they don’t say what kind she had. Not that one is better than another, but it can serve to raise people’s awareness.
The movie series, the Avengers, has nothing to do with the TV show and is hideously violent.
Comcast will not return my phone calls.
Verizon had to go to the store, which couldn’t solve my problem, but could connect to real person that could solve the problem.
The scam of sending a money order or check, in excess of the sale amount is so pervasive, I put a warning on anything I sell on Craigslist.
Ulrich, sorry to hear about his vision. If that guy didn’t have bad luck, he wouldn’t have any.
[8]A turkey is a funny bird, his head goes wobble wobble. All it is he has to say, is gobble gobble gobble[8]
That’s Judy’s song and she’s like a little kid and I love when she sings it
We got rid of storage today in its entirety and I am so happy. Here is the last light at the end of the tunnel in the Box we rented for 7 years.
No more $90 a month and no more kept luggage carried on my coat tail. I am officially a Non Hoarder Today[(-D][:D]
We stopped at Joe’s for a beer to celebrate! Only two blocks down is the gas station and the local gender to pick up a 12-pack for the two of us to split tonight.
While I was pumping gas the Wild Turkey Clucked around my truck and came up to me like he wanted something to eat. He was so close I could have just put my arm down and petted him. I didn’t have my phone to take a picture and neither did Judy.
Had we have, I’m sure that bird would have put his wings around us on each side of him so we could all take group pictures[(-D]
I asked Dan about him at United and he said he comes around every day since this spring. I have seen him many times enough to watch him grow but not everyday like Dan. That bird is getting rather big[dinner]
If I were to put that bird on my plate for Thanksgiving somehow, I would probably be doing him a favor! But he is the neighborhood mascot and I will leave him alone[(-D][Y]

She was a great actress who never took herself too seriously. So she could pull off drama or comedy or, in the case of the Avengers both simultaneously with equal aplomb. Her daughter is a real chip off that block also.
Emma Peel indeed. She certainly appealed to the M in me.
Not looking forward to round 2 of Kelly’s funeral. The first one was hard enough. Going to the burial site on Saturday. Seeing Judy falling apart all over again which has already started is going to be very hard.
Thanks for listening while I vent I’m somewhat new to this funeral stuff. I’m having some problems with it in my older age

Hi CN Charlie,
I think the boiling bit is because the store bought perogies usually come frozen. After they are boiled at a medium heat we finish them in butter and chopped bacon. We prefer green onions to sauteed onions. The sauteed ones don’t agree with me.

Flo, give the gang and I a [B] please and Dirk his dog treat.
CPAP hose repair did the trick. Sleep much better last noight.
All this talk about albams with train on the jacket, what about a rock band named Railroad? My faviort band when I was a youth, Grand Funk Railroad!
Time to take Dirk out, so later.
Ken and Dirk say’s Woof, Woof.
Yeah, the movie Avengers is not the TV series Avengers. I read that Diana Rigg smoked her whole life since she was 18. I don’t know if that was what happened. John Steed and Emma Peel – what a pair in a stylish crime drama with touches of science fiction. Emma was the main reason I watched. From IMDB: “Was voted the sexiest-ever TV star by TV Guide in the United States.” “Mrs. Peel, we’re needed.”
Mister Beasley, I agree, I also loved The Prisoner. Those two shows were about the only ones I made sure not to miss.
Kevin, whenever you post that video, “I Never Go To Work”, I have that melody running through my head the rest of the day. I sent it to a bunch of other people who are still working.
For some reason, I don’t remember many album covers. About the only one that stands out is Santana’s first album – got that one in college, either 1969 or 1970. It was a lion’s head.
The second largest quiver of arrows ever.
Ah, man!!![:(]
She was also James Bond’s wife.
