4884bigboy, you got the page URL, not the photo URL - here is what you wanted:

Art,

You’re looking good. I can’t wait to get to that stage–in about 2008.

Once again nice pics from everyone. depending when I wake in the morning I’ll either take some photo so i can finally post them or i’ll go spend some money at the hobby shop.

Grande man- Every pic you post makes me jealous of your layout. Do you have your track plan online. I would love to see your overall layout.

4884Bigboy- You need to put some CSX in that photo. You have to represent for the csx thread. Still a nice photo though.
Andrew

Thanks Andrew. There’s some good side info about the Platte Canyon Sub on page 1 & 2 of this “virtual tour” post. Page two has an overall view and description of the track plan. Thanks for your interest and have a great weekend.

Another great selection guys, inspiring.

Grande, your pics never fail to please, love your work.
Lesterperry, awesome scenery/trees !! what did you use for the logs? they look great.
Bxcarmike, that weathering/rust effect looks fantastic, great outdoors shot.

I havent had chance to do much this week so I tried my hand at weathering my first reefer this afternoon.( I only realised what reefer meant yesterday !! [:I] )

I initially weathered it with … photocopier toner !!! which I read about a while ago and have been dying to try. It gave a really dirty, ‘sooty’ effect, which I thought looked great. Spray of dull coat. Then I rusted the rivets and doorhinges with testors rust. Next was painting the areas where the rust/paint had worn off with excessive use, ie, steps, ladders and doorlock bar, I used rustolium ‘aluminium’ for that.

I think it turned out well for my first attempt, although next time I will do the painting before the copytoner.

Have fun & be safe, keep the great pics coming.
Karl.

last one,P2K gp-9,detailed for NH

So you found an HO one? I guess I can stop looking for you now.
