NEW TO HOBBY TRYING TO FIND OUT IF MAXI III WELL CARS WILL RUN ON A 18’ RADIUS LAYOUT
Whose brand and scale? For HO, some probably will not if you really meant to type 18 inch and not 18 foot radius.
And please don’t type in all capital letters – in Internet protocol that’s regarded as being angry and shouting at us - and it’s hard to read.
Athearn’s Maxi III will negotiate 18" curves but won’t look good doing it. I think they recommend 22" or greater for best peformance and appearance.
As far as the all caps thing…shouting? Really? I don’t take offense at the all caps or feel he’s shouting. Maybe he has vision problems and all caps helps him read what he types.
Scroll all the way down to the last group of well cars listed on this page (the TwinStack container cars)… My layout is only 4x10 feet, has 18" curves, and I have one of these cars; it rounds my curves without a problem…
Just to add to the "shout’ thing, printing has no volume, it is a system of communication, are some people incapable of reading capital letters (they are the same) what do you do if you want to read a highway sign? or any other sign, and thousands of informative signs and instructions are in caps, how do you possibly use a key board or is yours in lower case?
This is one of the biggest urban myths on the internet, it was started many years ago at the advent of computers and has carried on to today, if you are having trouble reading capital letters you must have missed that day in school.
DID NOT ASK FOR INTERNET PROTOCOL JUST FOR TRAIN HELP thanks matt and jasper for help
tatans, it’s not “urban myth”. It’s internet ettiquette that’s been around since the beginning. As you yourself pointed out, the printed word has no volume or inflection. When writting a message, you can EMPHASIZE a particular word by capitalizing it.
Typing out EVERYTHING in capitals therefore is the same as shouting, and considered bad form. It’s also completely unnecessary. Turn off the caps lock and write normally.
