Well I need some help

[:)]I need some help to try & figure out a new layout. I am being kicked out of my part of the basement so my wife can have a bigger class room.

This is not all that bad as now I can go from a small L shape to a long but narrow layout the new one will be 20’ long & 5’ wide. My biggest engine that will be on here is our MTH UP Challenger & if I remember it takes a min of 54" radious curve to run. I would like to run 2 trains at once & possibly 3. I now it would have to be something of a 2 tier layout as I as giong to put another on top of it for our S gauge as well.

I do not know if anyone has done an artical on this or not but I would like to see them for idea uses or if any one here has any I will welcom all ideas. This project is more than likely a year out from being ready for biuld so I have reasurch time.

How about track planning software for windows vista any ideas. Would like something that is easy to use.

Thank you for your time.

Take care.[:I]

Ed,

Try Realistic Track Plans for Toy Trains. There are some really neat ideas for long and narrow layouts in there. One of my favorites is the New Haven layout, with a four-track electrified system connecting two dog-bone bump-outs. At any rate, it’s a good book to have!

I predict at least two nice long passing sidings in your future…

Ed, FYI - I have been using RR TRACK VER 4 for Windows with Vista and it has been working fine for me.
