Well, Sountraxx, which is the correct/preferred way for 2 speakers??

(This must have come up before, but I will ask here again.)

I have wired pairs both of the ways that Soundtraxx illustrates in their installation guides. Which do you prefer? Has anyone had a problem with running the decoder amp at the higher 4 ohm draw?

(I’m sure there is no difference in the recommendations because one is the old DSD and the other a Tsunami.)

TWO SPEAKERS SHOWN IN PARALLEL BY SOUNDTRAXX WILL DRAW 4 OHMS

TWO SPEAKERS SHOWN IN SERIES BY SOUNDTRAXX WILL DRAW 16 OHMS

Looks simple to me, run your speakers between 4 and 16 ohms. I also have used 32 ohm speakers with the Tsu-1000s with no issues. I wouldn’t go less than 4 ohms, though.

Thanks.

Yeah, I think that it is simple re: the speakers and sound quality. I have set up pairs in both parallel and series with no noticeable difference in sound. However, I wondered if there was an appreciable wear on a decoder needing to provide 4 ohms. This is going to create more heat alright, and I suppose in the long run if one were to run the sound long and loud, the life of the decoder would be relatively shortened.

But is seems that the possibilty/effect is minimal, since the manufacturer suggest both setups.
