We're losing another great one

After seemingly epochs in buisness, Golf Manor Hobbies in Ohio is closing it;s doors. The auction is on the 22nd. The owner is having health problems (he’s only in his upper 80s) and there’s no one under the retirement age to take over.

For those of you who don’t know Golf Manor, they’re floor to cieiling of MRR stuff spanning the last 30 years. ANd there’s everything from Brass to paper cut-outs. For those of you who do know Golf, you know we’re losing another holy grail.

That’s going to be a major loss for owners of older Rivarossi products because Golf Manor Hobbies seemed to be the only place that had parts.

I hope someone will be able to take over the parts of AHM/Rivarossi.

I have gone to these folks many times for parts.

Keep us posted.

Man…

Well, everyone better hope I don’t move to an area near them…that’s the second LHS that’s closed down since I moved here a little over a year ago.

Any details on the auction?

Not really. The only reason I know is that Dad and I had an item on layaway. They called us to see if we could get it moved more quickly, so it wasn’t dragging behind after the store closed. It’ll be sold in lots (MASSIVE Lots) and is set to go on this Month. A little fast I’m afraid. Barring Dad’s health having hiccups, we’re gonna head over this weekend. So maybe I can get saomething more then.

Which I fear was the first one? Dad and I used to frequent a lot of them in that area.

That’s bad news. I so get to Cincinnati from time to time, and I have shopped there. [:(]
