Howdy,
As is obvious from my avitar, I am a fan of the WM RR. However, I dont know much background on their lettering scemes. When did they quit using the “Fireball” logo and go to the speed lettering on Loco’s and Cars?
Thanks
Chuck

I myself don’t have a clue, but you might try the Western Maryland Railway Historical Society. They have a discussion forum.
The 1960’s was an era of graphic revisons for all railroads.
…Assuming you {Chuck}, speak of the WM RR and not the tourist line…Can’t help with the logo but have an interest of it’s route as it traveled through southern Pennsylvania…{my home state}. You no doubt know much of it is a Trail now.
Famous Salisbury Viaduct near Meyersdale, Pa. is an interesting structure almost 2000’ in length and almost 100’ high in places as it crosses the wide valley, river, ex. B&O RR and 2 highways. The view is really great from up on it which now has a concrete floor and metal sides for safe usage, etc…
