This makes me really hope that CSX has a steam program at some point. Seeing something like this on the main line would be incredible.

Can’t wait to see this beauty rolling through the mountains without the diesel assistance that 734 usually needs.

Great video, Jim! I hope this is the first of many.

WOW awesome video Jim! I know projects like this probable don’t help in making your next magazine deadline, but stuff like this is what keeps me subscribing to Trains.

Sorry, but I’m having technical difficulties with the yellow shirt in this video…Is there a way to adjust the color?

CSX steam? With the railroad business falling off like it is, it might be able before CSX decides that a steam program might not be in their best interest. Let us hope U.P. continues their dedication to steam!

I can’t believe how quickly these man are at rebuilding this beautiful engine, Now what is up with the 734? I heard this year was its last year forever?

734 is due for her big FRA inspection. Once 1309 is running, my understanding is 734 will go through the inspection process (basically a rebuild), and WMCRR will have two steamers.

Enjoyed the video on the restoration of the locomotive! Should be one heck of a site when it operates in 2016! Love to see it!

I haven’t been able to view any of the videos on this site. My browser is Firefox and my security is McAfee. I have no problem viewing Rochelle. TRAINS tried to help, but their Q&A didn’t help.

I think I enjoyed watching the 1309 restoration video more than most of the typical “run-by” videos. This is real; run-bys are staged.
