The UP unit Western Pacific 1983 was at Proviso Yard today. It was facing east at the Manheim Road overpass. Nice looking unit.

Is it going to be on Q090 heading East into Ohio soon, or is he going to be heading back West?
If it was at Proviso, it wasn’t on a Q090. Those engines run through from origin (California, usually) to destination.
The 1983 came in on a manifest from Kansas City. It’s not scheduled out yet, but you can bet that it will go either west, north, or south from Proviso–not (too far) east, and almost certainly not on a train for somebody else’s railroad.
(Unless, of course, we’re going to be merging with that company soon! [}:)])
A little inside information, Carl?
[;)] [}:)] [;)]
The only “inside” info there is that it wasn’t scheduled out yet…everything else is pure logic, coupled with experience. As for the merger, you know how companies have to put out disclaimers whenever they post “forward-looking statements”? I get by with a [}:)]!
That’s it! UP and CSX must be merging tomorrow. I saw a rumor on the internet! How could that be wrong?
