Last month, We began a fundraiser to purchase Western Pacific Bay Window Caboose 470 to add to the Western Pacific Railroad Museum’s collection in Portola CA. To date we have received solid pledges of 2400.00. The owner is selling it to us for the sum of 5000.00. This leaves us currently 2600.00 short of our needs. The moving company will invoice the museum and we can worry about that later. But for now. We need to raise the remaining 2600.00 by the end of this month. Time is short.
This caboose is significant to the Museum’s Western Pacific focus and collection as it is part of the second of 3 Steel bay Window classes. This class is currently not a part of the museum collection. Please help us obtain this Caboose for our collection. Contact me at: webmaster@wplives.org
You say you must raise the money by the end of the month? What happens to it after the end of the month? It is time for more of those bake sales, car washs and the gala fund raising dinner in the dinning car!
The owner has until June 10 to move it off his property. I do not know what his contingency plan is. As he has had this on the market for a year, my guess is a scrapper
May I offer the idea that if you are unable to raise the entire amount by the deadline that he may consider invoicing you for the balance. Since the moving company trust you to pay them he might as well. You have managed to raise a large portion in a very short time. For less than the cost of a big screen TV It would be a shame to see it go to the torch. Good Luck and I wish you success. P.S. You would store it for free till the debt is paid. As always ENJOY
