"Western Rail Photos" & "George L. Beam Images 1920 - 1934 from the Ozment Collection"

I just stumbled across these pages in the course of researching pneumatic tool safety for work (really !), and don’t remember seeing them posted here. I haven’t looked at all of the Western Rail Images pages, but most are historical to some extent. Some are not rail-related, but they’re still interesting - something for everyone, I think.

The George L. Beam photos are generally just great ! Many of them are trackwork related, a subject “near and dear” to several of us here. Appears a lot of time could be spent looking at and studying these images - I’d guess there might be several hundred - now 80 to 95 years old !

You woulda gotten a charge out of Oz. Was a pleasure to work with him from the other side of the fence and know him after retirement.

Prolific photographer with a keen eye for the unusual. The collection is just the tip of the iceberg. Posted by his son after he passed away. Neat stuff. Some of his stuff from boyhood and college around St. Louis is stunning.
