Western where is it 2/10/06

Sorry about the quality of these but they were some of the first train pics I took back in 84’ or 85’

Anyone,anyone…Buler…Buler…

Must be LA area, what with all that pollution in the air… oh wait, is that dirt on the film?[:D]

Not LA

It’s not dirt, it’s ink. This was how I learned my lesson on useing permanant ink to label pictures without letting them dry before stacking them again.[:0]

I know a kid in Memphis through another forum who’s a whiz with Photoshop- if you sent him hi-rez versions of these shots, he could make those ink spots disappear.

I get around in photoshop too, but it takes time to fix things and I don’t feel like takeing the time. Mabee someday when I have time I will do touch up. For the were is it photos i just crop, re-size and sometimes do color correction. Only takes about a minuet for each picture.

it looks like the old pig ramp area in dallas that the kcs now owns.

Sam, All my western where is its are west of the continental divide.
Washington,Oregon,Idaho,California,Nevada,Utah,Colorado,Arizona

Peavine in Phoenix?

That’s a UFO [Unidentified Film Object] that somehow escaped from Area 51

OK let an easterner take a stab at this one. Well, now it looks to me as if the territory shown in the pictures looks as if it is in the deasert reagon somewere. Now, that I know from the above post that most of these Western Were Is Its are across the Continental Divide, it has to be somewere in…um…Arizona??

The mountains in the first photo make me want to say Richmond,CA,but my gut says no.

I think you may be right. Of course the only thing my gut is saying is “DINNER!”

Looking at Chad’s list of states, CA and AZ are the only possibilities. Stockton, Riverbank, Fresno, Bakersfield, Barstow, the LA area, and San Diego are all out. It seems like the yard in Phoenix is not by any mountains. I have my doubts that it could be anywhere else in Arizona. Also, the photograph of the end of the pig train, there appears to be a tank on top of the hill at left. This may be part of the Chevron refinery.
