I do have a shot from the Washington side looking across the Columbia at a UP train with the top half of Mt. Hood in the background. Mabee I’ll use that one of these days. I spent a lot of time in Hood River when I lived in Washington but I had a beer in my hand more often then the camera.[:D]
Northern California? Shasta? Maybe as far north as Klamath Falls, OR.

I’ll just say that you can see Mt. Shasta from where this picture was taken (of course that only narrows it down to 1/2 northern California). I’m looking for the name of this sideing / Location on this one.
Grass Lake, CA? Train would be northbound (SP timetable eastbound).
And we have a winner. Good job Clemente. Yes, It’s Grass Lake on the exSP Black Butte sub and the train is the Portland bound PCX shot in spring of 93’
Without looking at other replies, I’d say this is between Weed, CA and Dorris, CA?

Yeah, saw the Grass Lake answer after posting. Never been there to fan but will have to put that on my list of places to go to.

Definately Jim, It’s very scenic. Especially between Grass Lake and down to Weed and Castle Craigs. There are even a few trestles along the line.
Dang it, Chad — that makes number three now. Crud. But I did put the location on your trestle shot when you first posted it and the Bend shot. This being out of touch for several days at a time is not doing any good for my “record”
Don’t even worry about it Eric, It’s for fun and I’m not keeping score.
I’m just happy I got the “Shasta” part right. Even if I only narrowed it down to like 700 square miles.
