What 2 Toy Trains Best Represent the Hobby in Your Opinion

Hey Ya’ll

I have been thinking. What 2 Toy Trains Best Represent Our Hobby.
There are so many to choose from, but my geusses are the…

  1. Lionel 400E Blue Comet and Cars
  2. Lionel Santa Fe Super Speedliner

What 2 trains do you think best represents our hobby???

Bert and Mary Poppins aka Nick

Lionel Polar Express
K-Line Iraqi Freedom Train

700E scale hudson

2343 Santa-Fe F-3

Hi Jay, where’s Joe?

2343 Santa Fe F3s
Standard Gauge #10 and the larger look-a-likes

Standard Gauge 408E and the 400E Blue Comet set.

although I am partial to the New York Central version, the Santa Fe’s were much more prevalent, and I think that red and silver scheme ir realy representative of the toy train hobby.

Likewise, a post-war 2-8-4 Bershire or similar Hudson really represents the hobby to me, because it is what I grew up with.

2343 Santa Fe F3s

Stean Turbine

One that runs - one that doesnt run.

on second thought, I think teh train that best signifies the hobby is an OGR Beep.

I just couldn’t reist [}:)]

For me it’ll always be a Lionel 1110 and a Lionel 2026 pulling a small consist of O27 cars, because those were my Dad’s boyhood trains and they were my introduction to the hobby as well.

My vote would be for the 773 Hudson and the 2343 Santa Fe F-3’s

The Santa fe 2343 F3
2037 lionel lines (my first lionel train)
The best postwar quality.
