Notice, too, that you have to pick it up – no delivery available. And the first bid is only $9.99. This appears to possibly be a layout from an Atlas layout book where the idea was to use as much track as possible and have only minimal scenery.
I believe the auction is truly for the rolling stock, locos, structures, and hardware. You can take what you want of the layout. I’m sure he will chuck whatever isn’t taken.
That’s pretty cool, in a sphaghetti-kinda way. I’ll bet he had a good time building that puppy over the years.
And the track around the bed is great idea. Hook up the layout to a timer , have a sound equipped engine come by your head in the morning, horn at full volume, and you have quite the alarm clock![(-D]

One fellow decided to get rid of all his stuff, cheap starting bid, but the bids grew, I think he got his money’s worth, and he had some really good equipment.

I generally want a layout with purpose, not just run it anywhere.
