What a day!

Talked my mom into taking me to watch trains on Sunday. Well, the line through Blair, Nebraska which handles almost all of the westbound trains was closed due to the storms from Saturday. I don’t know if powerlines were on the tracks or if the tracks got washed out from the heavy rains.

There were so many extra trains on the line that they were all backed up. One westbound went by so fast that it looked like a silver blur and nothing else. There was the back-end of a train and front-end of a train and neither of them ever moved.

Sorry to hear of your bad day. [:(]

Sounds like a post for “Bummer for a Railfan”. [;)]

I bet in a day or two trains will be running again then you can see some action and maybe get a “Photo of the Day” for us. [:D]

Good Luck and Best Wishes [:)]

A bad day watching trains is still better than a good day at work…unless you work on the train…LOL

Man, I thought you’d be watching the weather instead of mundane little ol’ trains!

(Of course, I can’t see your parents eagerly taking you tornado chasing…)

Some of the backups may have been due to track work east of there…we’re running some detours along the parallel IC line in western Iowa, but there are still a lot of trains that might get backed up.

Oh well, it’s not the end of the world…

Just look forward to the days when you can head out and drive yourself around, it’s great you get to go wherever you want whenever you want!!

—mind you lately I’ve had to cut back – it’s been taking a bit of a toll on the old wallet with gas prices the way they are and all.

I need to talk my mom into taking me trainwatching

When it comes to tornadoes I’m really timid. I would much rather be in the basement when a tornado is coming not a highway. My dad always says that someday he is going to go tornado chasing… but I’ll be sure that he doesn’t.
So that’s why those trains were so backed up. I had forgotten all about that track work in Iowa.

Dry thunderstorms in Denver again today (Keep the thunder & lightning - just give us the water!)…You folks out east of us on the plains keep an eye out!
