What a nice company to deal with!

Companys that are helpfull and good to their customers seldom get the recognition they deserve. I just want to tell everyone that Dave at :

IS A REAL PLEASURE TO DEAL WITH.!!!
Great service!!!

Looks like a cool place to deal. Do they have a Beaver Tails booth in laser-cut?

I’ve have used several of their castings to detail layout. My favorite is their 1940’s Gas Station Detail kit.

I agree, they are a great company. I think that the laser kits that they make are excellent value and a great introduction to wooden kit building. I have lots of their details as well.

3 JL kits in this shot

Gas station detail kit

Another kit with a bunch of JL detail parts.

Now, having seen all of Bob’s work I intend to go back to these and try and get them to develop that well worn dingy look he achieves so well.

Those are some nice kits! It sounds like a good company to deal with.

Yep, great people, good products … their McLeod SuperService gas station kit (had to get it when it came out, matches my last name) was my second craftsman kit, is a great price for a craftsman kit, went together easily, looks great … AND THEIR STUFF ISN’t ‘LIMITED RUN’!

Sounds good!

While we’re being nice Model Junction here in the UK is excellent… they’ve just moved to Slough… check Continental Modeller… or their old location will give you the new phone that I can’t find.
They are a real refreshing change in the UK scene. Farrah knows her products and is very helpful.

Isn’t it nice to be able to say nice things for a change?

David, when I am in the UK, I am often in the Maidenhead/Windsor area as 2 of my siblings live in the area. Is Model Junction a retail store that I could visit? I usually go to the Marlow Donkey in Cookham (tons of stuff in a microscopic store) and the LHS in Bourne End (not so much MRR now) and the department store on Pescod st in Windsor that has a suprisingly decent Hornby department in the toy section.

Simon
Model Motors in Bourne End included Model Junction… which was slowly taking over the shop
I’m afraid I can’t find the flyer they sent me for the move but try 01753528360

E mail is MODJUNC@aol.com

The new shop looks to be quite close to a rail station from the map but I can’t read the name on my copy.
Model Junction is mainly US material with only a little Hornby… at least that’s how it was in Bourne end… haven’t been to the new store yet.

Hope this helps. If you are in that corner of the country you might like to go accross to Epsom for the Epsom and Ewell Model railway Club’s Exhibition… dates will be in Railway Modeller… sorry can’t gove more detail at present… but the show will probably blow your mind. Always one of the best in the country.

I think it is excellent when folks report positive dealings with various manufacturers, distributors, retailers etc. Good people should be rewarded!

Thanks David. I will look them up when next over. No plans for now I am afraid. I grew up in Bourne End, went to school at St Pauls Cof E in Wooburn and purchased almost all of my Hornby trains as a kid from Cliftons toy shop in B. End high street. I don’t think the shop is there any more[:(] I would save up my pocket money and cycle to the store on a Saturday to pick out a new freight car. I still have all the boxes with the price tags. 90p for a flat car with wheel load, ready to run as well!
