Mine are my Santa Fe Super Chief, Western Pacific 2-8-2 Mikado and Southern Pacific GP-40-2s.

Narrow Gauge: SP#18 2-6-0 with a mixed consist, 3 freights and 1 or 2 passenger cars. Standard Gauge: my Soundtraxx equiped ’ Altlas O’ GP35 in Nickel Plate Road , with a bay window caboose bearing the white banner “Nickel Plate High Speed Service,” though a UP Passenger train with the FEF-3 steamer would be nice, but don’t have that! My husband would likely say that his N&W J series loco is his favorite. He has been looking for one for several years, and just found a stunning brass O scale model. Now were gonna have to find the passenger cars for it to pull! CHERS,
Jennifer

Mine would be my Athearn VIA Rail GE P42, for looks, and Walthers VIA F40 for running.

THayman, I’ve been wanting one of those Athearn Via P42’s for awhile now. They are very nice looking eh. My favorite has to be my 2 Atlas GP40 Go Transit trains. Everybody in Southern Ontario nows what the GO train is and its probably the most popular with the kids at the shows my club and I go to. Hearing the little kids say “Look its the GO train” just cracks me up. I just wi***hey had sound.

Best Looking/Best Pulling: 4100-class Frisco Mike.
Best Sound: #722 T & P Hudson in Eagle paint.
Favorite Kit-built: Mantua Prarie
Favorite sons: #8020 ATSF Alco FA, #490 NYC 0-4-0.

My wife’s: BLI C-16 2-8-0

All-time favorites: My two Akane M-4 Yellowstones.
Runners up: PFM L-131 2-8-8-2, Westside L-105 4-6-6-4, Custom Brass C-48 2-8-0, and my new little ‘critter’, a C-28 2-8-0 from Key.

Rivarossi cab forward,P2K SP E9,Love that Mars light!)Athearn Genesis SP SD70M.

My Rivarossi UP FEF-3, My Spectrum UP 4-8-2, and My Athearn ATSF FP45. Love those things to death!

I’ve always been partial to EMD GP-9’s, SD 45T-2’s and GE U-boats…Chuck

My super-detailed C&NW Kato SD40-2s and SD45s. It will probably soon change to my Kato SD38-2s custom painted for the freelanced shortline operating on my layout.

My CNR GP-7 , and I can’t wait to get my CNR Alco RS-3 when Atlas finally releases them in August…not that I’m wishing my summmer away[;)]

Wow. That’s a tough one. On the hobby side I would have to say any Alco unit is my favorite, with a soft spot in my head/heart for the PA’s and FA’s. On the real side, I live only a few miles from the GE Transportation plant here in Erie, PA, and some of their new units are beautiful, especially the new envoronmental friendly for the life of me I can’t think of the name, but their new commercial starting out with the UP and CP meeting at Promontory Utah is great.

Sorry I have to drop to my O gauge and that would be a tie as I have the 671, 681 & my 682 all 3 are 6-8-6 with12 wheel tenders (2671) I know 671is the only one thats supose to have the 2671 tender. Then would be my 2359 GP-9 B&M all have magatraction

In fact,I have two rosters…in N scale.First my collection…my Challenger is top of the list followed by my Veranda turbine, both UP’s.From my active roster,my two pairs of CP’s SD90/43MAC and AC4400CW.

My fav depends on which one happens to be rolling by at the moment…[:)]

If pushed though, I’d probably go with the P2K SD7. I’ve got 7 powered D&RGW (along with several other roads) locos and 4 of them are P2k. Hard to beat them for the money! I’ll be getting more in Grande colors soon.

As for steam, I like my IHC Consolidations. They are inexpensive, run GREAT, and when detailed and weathered, look good. They blow my Athearn Genisis Mike away for reliability. It’s been back to the factory twice, is hard to keep on the track and doesn’t have tender pickups. Does look good though…
