What Big Box rattle can has a fine spray?

I have a large number of items to paint a common color and know people have used rattle cans from the hardware store (Rust-Oleum as an example). Can anyone name a national brand that has a fine spray and thin coat?

Thanks for your input.

Krylon is pretty good stuff these days. Fine spray, with a nozzle that swivels to put the fan pattern how you want it. Dries in 10 minutes. Hobby Lobby often has it on the weekly 30% off list.

I do use RustOleum, but it varies from quick and fine to heavy and wet, depending on formulation. Not all the colors you want available in the formulation you need. However, the Moss Green is great stuff for making bumpy chenille trees with.

For things that need to be flat black, I use the Walmart store brand cans. Seems pretty fine to me, and at $1.19 for a big can vs what, $6 for a tiny can of Testors these days…

I have found that warming the rattle can in a bowl of hot water goes a long ways to getting a better (smoother) finish even with the cheaper brands of paint.

Gidday , can’t comment on US paint brands, but Catts tip is very relevant. If I know that I will be painting using a rattle can I either sit it in the sun for a while or if in a hurry give it a flick with the heat gun. A good shake is, of course, a given.

Happy painting.

Make sure that you get the regular Rust-Oluem, they have some paints that are very think, or create a somewhat nonskid surface for 1:1 scale[swg]. The Rust-Oluem creates a good smooth coat if you spray it on wood, not sure about models[^o)], try a very light coat, just enough to get the color, that should work.

Oh, no reason for asking.
