What color?...

… of Testors or Floqil spray paint best matches IANR red? http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=144706
Same for the gray.

Thanks

From the pics the gray looks like CSX or D&H the red is very dark with a bit of burgundy. You may have to mix- start with SP scarlet and darken/ tint touch of B&M moroon/burgundy. If you find a formula, write down the receipe for future paint jobs. It can be deceiving going by only one picture. Check out a few and in different lighting. I had a tough time doing WM circus red. Same w/ Chessie vermillion Maybe the reds are the problem ones- or my eyes are going—

Can’t mix spray paint.(I don’t have an airbrush) I do have Floquil caboose red, but that’s a bit too light.

Seems like a perfect excuse to get that airbrush. Once you’ve painted a model w/ one, you will wonder how you ever got along without one. Painting track, scenery , building and great for weathering. There are many decent ones at reasonable $$. Even pick up an old Badger 200 they work great Paid $20 for my first one. I painted for years w/ an air tank before buying a small portable compressor.

Floquil offers a bit darker cherry sort of red… Soo Line Red. Might be close to the shade you are looking for.

Don’t know if it’s available in spray can form though.

The grey isn’t as critical, because unlike the red, you don’t have to match the shade to the decals you will be applying. I would go with CSX/DH grey as Bob K. suggested.

You might try fire red. Available at Wal-mart in the spray paints.

I’ll get a few more pics and see what color y’all think it is.
