i have an atlas gp9 that is desiring a drop in sound decoder that synchronizes sound with loco. does mrc make one that will fit without any altering of frame.
Take some free advice and avoid any MRC sound decoder. They have a history of failure after only a short time of use.
Sound Synchronization isn’t an issue with diesel Loco’s. Stick with QSI or Tsunami and you’ll be happy
I am going to second this vote for QSI or Tsunami. Those two are the best choices.

Which scale? HO or N?
Either way, if you purchase an MRC decoder, it will fail and suck the life juices out of you. Go with something of quality.

ho scale. .my layout is one engine strong for a branchline;so i just need to update the easiest way. thanks for the info.
Easy or cheap?
If it were my loco, I would go with a TSU750 EMD 567 with a mini-oval speaker (14x20mm) from Tony’s trains. That would be the easiest way to go.
In terms of cheap, look at the Digitrax soundbug. The sound is mediocre at best, but if it gets you hooked, then you should be ok.
The difference between the 2 is about 60 bucks (the Tsunami being more expensive). You can listen to the Tsunami soundfiles on the Soundtraxx site.
But, what ever you do, do not waste your time or money on MRC decoders. They are of horrible quality and tend to fail after minimal usage.
