What do I do?

Got a bulding kit at a train show last year, opened it today, included in the building kit box was another sealed package of what looks like a wooden trestle, no plans, no pictures, nothing, all the wooden parts are there as the bag was sealed, what is a chap to do? I’ve tried to semi -assemble it (no glue) but nothing appears to what it may be, for sure it’s a trestle or bridge of some sort, I have no way find out what it is, I finished the building according to plans and it for sure is not part of that kit.

any help out there?

How about a google search for the manufacturer of the kit you bought?

Google them and see if the still have anything like what you found inside for sale.

Then try contacting them and get the “destructions” {instructions}. Or see if the assembly destructions are online for that item.

THat would be what I’d try doing if it t’were me what had this here problem .

I’d do all that before I tore whats left of my graying hair out!

If not, then I’d out it aside until a winter’s storm left me with nothing to do but amuse myself adn try try again.

Its a start anyway.

There’s a good probability that it’s a Campbell kit. At least it’s a good place tp start.

Here’s a link to the bridge page(s): http://www.campbellscalemodelsonline.com/category_s/53.htm

Andre

What was the mfg and kit name? Was the outer kit box sealed when you got it?

What kit did you buy? What company?

Just because there’s something in the box doesn’t necessarily mean that you must use it. Walthers Cornerstone kits usually have a lot of spare parts because some of their parts sprues, such as windows and doors, are used in more than one kit.

i think, He got a real bargain, A building and a bridge, Just a thought!!!

Cheer’s,

Frank

Consider it a challenge.

And we want pictures.

Boy you hit that one right on. I got the Walther N-scale dairy complex a couple of years ago and I am still trying to figure out what the red plastic pieces are. I want to say they were part numbers 14, 15, and 16. The pictures on the box were no help at all.

SO FAR THE MYSTERY CONTINUES ; Kit inside another kit, clear bag, no name, no manufacturer, no plans, no instructions, bag was sealed so all parts there, probably from another maker, checked all the lengths of lumber, parts, wire, so if I do find a manufacturerer of the kit I can compare parts and lengths, Checked Campbells and they have no comparible bridge kits- - - say—might be a challenge to start building with no photo or instructions, will probably turn out to be a water tower or snow plow.

Post a pic, I know a lot about the old kits, particularly bridges.

Can’t post a photo, but here is a general description: I’m sure its a Deck Timber Bridge, 2 main beams 11", —2 big beams 10", also 5.5" beams, 2 bags of 2’'wood pieces, 2 metal barrels, bag of metal bolts and plates, 6 pieces of 9" wire

The bridge is 11’ long with some metals stringers, 2 water barrels and some more wood boards.

The 11" span works out to 80 feet

any help? ? thanks
