What do people on this forum think of BLIs new AC6000CW?

Well I was wondering what are the reviews of people on the BLI AC6000CW? I have two Union Pacific and I personally really like them and think they look great. I am not microscoping the details but they look good to me. What are the opinions here? On Atlas there is mixed reviews.

The rivet counters b*tch about them badly
The regular guys really seem to like them alot.

I have a CSX. Its great. Pulls great, looks great, sounds great, just great.

I’ve heard about these rants. I personally don’t care what the rivet-counters think…as long as it’s not a scale 20 feet over/undersized or missing 4 or 5 panels…I’m okay with it.

I am looking for a CSX one, but eBay has proved to be unhelpful so far.

I saw several of the BLI AC6000CW at the LHS and I was generally impressed. I thought that they could have done a better job with the front windshield wipers. The connection was a little rough. If the units were more in line with my collection I would have purchased one or two.

Might have to check into that…eBay’s been bringin’ $250 for sound units.

For what’s it worth.

sigh, I wish i could work up the money for BLI. Perhaps i’ll take a closer look at the Atlas

I have a non-sound UP model. I love it. A couple days after I got it, I did have to send it back to BLI for some lighting issues, but they got it back to me within a little more than a week! Everything works great now.

Sean

That’s great… but how do they PULL?

RRY, if you want one badly enough, you’ll figure out a way to get it.

I’m not sure of your status, but I know that you are young. Can you set aside $10/week? By Easter, you’'l be able to buy one at MSRP.

To take off from Nike, just do it.

It’s about the same pulling power as my P2k SD60. I’ve had my AC6000 pull about 80 cars on level track, no slipping, no problems.

Hey its our old friend Biggiesmalls/Monster Railroad/ Any of his other monickers.

While I admire BLI filling a modern deisel gap with the big bad AC. They got 2 details wrong that sour it for me (Im a semi rivet counter) No dynamic break detail on the shell (!) and the ditchlights are in the wrong position.

UP (or Biggie?)

Please, go easy on the huge font.

I recently saw one of these units at a demo. The sound is sweet and the running smooth. As for body details, it’s very easy nowadays to get Details West parts and turn a locomotive into a work of art.

To those of you worried about the price, these units will be showing up on Ebay and discount hobby shops. After the “newness” of a product wears off a bit, prices come down.
