My choice is the classic electric, the GG-1.
For me, its U-Boats.
E-Units
For diesels,E unit[:D].
For steam,SP GS4[:D].
For electric,GG1[:D].
GE’s Dash 8’s. I don’t know why but C&NW’s standard cabs look great and so do those fat nose ex-Conrail ones with the high headlights.

Absolutely. I have seen a few Ex- Northwestern Dash 8s her in the Chicago area. In fact. I think I saw the Wyoming Centenial one, only the logo seemed peeled off[:(]

PRR T-1 steam
Has to be the Baldwin Shark Nose. Saw too many E’s and F’s, and even Alcos weren’t a big change. That underswept nose was a pleasant change. [:)]
I used to think that the coolest engines around were the ones like the Centennials, or the U50s. then I took a look around at what the shortlines were using in the arera I was living at the time. All Geeps. That sealed it for me. GP 7s and GP 9s.

Everyone knows without doubt that the Alco PA1 was undoubtably the finest looking locomotive ever built.[:)]
I’m casting my vote for the SDP40 and SDP45, the ultimate passenger locomotives from the pre-Amtrak period.
Also in the running are these export designs: DL500C (Alco’s World Locomotive) and the AT26C (Australian, looks like an FP45 with a bulldog nose).
Sorry[B)] I am a younger railfan/train enthusist , and forgot about alcos when I wrote this poll.

Best-looking are the F’s, but my FAVORITE is the BQ23-7.
WOW WOW WOW!!!. what about the the 60 series?..I am a huge fan of the SP GP60…well actually Im a big SP fan all together!..those engines have a boxy, bulky, powerful, take no prisoner look to them, and thats just down right cool, they look good as NS units too…
For shame, you don’t even list lotus in you cars, I would acutally pick a 1940 Ford anyways. Of course the best train is UP 4-8-4 FEF 3 s those could just about fly.
