55 ton coal hopper kits for me. Hopefully lots of em.
I really would like a few of the newly released B&O I-12 wagontop cabeese from Spring Mills Depot. One an early version to run the tail of the coal drag pulled by my EM-1 and a later blue/ yellow “Pool service” and the Chessie version.
WHAT I WANT Santa to bring me is one thing.
WHAT I am GETTING is a whole 'nuther thing!
This year I will get only coal in my stocking…
…but at least I can heat the house with it!!

- 2 sheets of 2 mm styrene
- some O scale windows and doors
That´s all I need to continue on my background buildings …
Right now I’m forming & sculpting landscape foundations. I’ll soon be laying track & landscaping. So, I’m hoping Santa brings:

All I want for Christmas is retirement and unofficially I will be retired on the 21st! Officially, I will be retired on the 31st, won’t you join me by having a big party that night?
I would like Santa to bring my fiancee a good job in the geologist / environmental field somewhere up north so we can move back to where they have snow and actually have a Christmas. Hopefully Santa can also manage to bring me one Southern boxcar as a memento of our time here in TN.

I’ve been a train nut since the mid 1950s. Typically, Christmas and birthdays bring train stuff of one kind or another. However, this is the first year that there is really nothing out there I want. I have all that I want/need, and frankly that is what I call “good news / bad news”.
I recall many Christmas’s opening up various train gifts, like the Athearn and other kits, all kinds of books, and even a loco now and then. This year will be a bit strange without any, but I just don’t have any “train wants” at this time…
All I need is about 5 people for about 5 days and all my scenery would be finished ,LOL.Jim.
Something only a mythical being could grant - more time, and good health.
As I approach retirement in an uncertain economy, I have to consider a new factor in building my layout - where will I be in 5 years? I’ve been in Massachusetts for 47 years, and in this house for 32 of those. Economically, this isn’t a good place to retire with its high tax burden, and we don’t need this much house.
For right now though, I’ll just wish for a Merry Christmas to all of you, and a happy new year.

Move to Texas. We have no state income tax, a strong economy and great winter weather. OK, a little hot in the summer, but take the good with the bad. Also, remember the reason for the season. Through Jesus Christ we can have perfect health and eternal life with Him.
I am very fortunate to be semi retired (family business) and when it comes to my trains Christmas is every day of the year.
If I need something or see something irresistible, I buy it.
Right now, until I get my yard finished I don’t have any room for more rolling stock and have a bunch still in boxes.
So I’ll not be getting any train related items this Christmas but I hope Santa answers your wish list.

I’ll have to agree with Mr. Bs first and last sentence of his post. Although I’ve been retired since 2004,no money problems,but I do have a lack of energy to complete what I call a large task that I started some 20 or so years ago… My 25 by 55 DC layout, which still is without it’s complete double tack main line.
