I just purchased an Atlas Master DCC System. While reading the Instruction Manual I ran across a section called CONSISTING. When this is done to locomotives what happens? What is the purpose for doing this?
Thanks for your reply,

You are combining them into a multi-unit and run them as one locomotive.
Why? More power. AAaarugh ha Ho Ho Ho
Linking 2 or more engines to respond to one common address that is independent of their programmed address.
It works so cool. I have three engines, make them into 1 address, had to change direction on 1, but then one button and they all work together. No fuss no muss, and only two little wires to loop. Can’t wait to take out temp layout and run them on big layout. Won’t be long…
Awesome, plus playing with the lights, and all.

Man, Chip, you sure have come a long way. A couple of months ago you would have asked “What is DCC”. Now you are answering a question on consisting.
Way to go! [tup][tup]
