Basicly, all subjects. However, I must admit that I’m lost when it comes to DCC and I really admire those knowledgable enough to wire decoders and make there own circuits. I’m kind of like my grand-dad. We had tractors on our farm back in the 40’s-50’s, but he still preffered horses, of which we had two teams up into the 60’s. I would like to add also, that not only the subjects here, but also the great people on this forum do more for the forum then we give them credit for. Just look at the photos of their work and the knowledge they share with us. Ken
My favorites are threads that showcase what other modellers are doing. Scenery and interesting structures are great inspiration. Weekend Photo Fun is my favorite recurring theme.
The new “chat room” threads are kind of fun, too. It’s interesting to get to know some of my fellow forum members as people with leaky roofs, kids, dogs and old cars.
I like curves too, but that has nothing to do with model railroading. I am a big electronics/computer geek and finding solutions for problems in model railroading all the while keeping it cheap and small is pretty much what I get a kick out of.
I like subjects that deal with processes. in other words how to articles. How to do PE not just apply them. How to make resin castings, How to make the originals for resin castings. I like new methods of scenery for instance Howard Zanes Red Rosin paper scenery ,which by the way tended to gloss over some details. How did Bob Grech make his dry rot porch posts? Anyways there’s more.
Buildings and building details; city scenes; detail photos of benchwork; small railroads (too many magazines want to cover the grandure of the large layouts, which is nice, but many of us have smaller layouts and we want to see what others have done in small spaces; prototype pictures
