I created some “brick” artwork and printed it out on some heavy-weight paper ( turned out real nice too ! ). I want to use it for a brick paved parking lot. The base of the lot is made from styrene. What glue would you suggest to stick the paper to the styrene without wrinkling the paper and also be able to bond to the styrene ???
Goodyear PlioBond is a reliable contact cement. It may be too thick for applying paper to styrene without having bumps or ripples.
I have used 3M’s Super 77 spray adhesive for different applications. It sprays smoothly. In your application, I would spray it on the paper, not the styrene. It will stick INSTANTLY and is terribly unforgiving!
I have some of the Super 77 spray adhesive, but I was under the impression it needed to be sprayed on BOTH surfaces for a permanent bond. Due to the fact the base area is surounded by curbs / side-walks, it’s almost impossible ( without a LOT of masking ) to spray the base area. Will it stick equally well if I just spray the brick sheets only ???
Without coating both surfaces, you would have to apply a very heavy/ wet coat on the brick. This could cause problems with the brick.
I would recommend using Liquid nail “clear” in the small tube or Aleen’s Tacky. These adhesives work very much like Walther’s Goo but are much more managable.
