I was looking at a back issue of MR and saw the Pennsy Middle Division project layout that Dave Frary built. It got me thinking, what happened to this and other project layouts?
I recall seeing the Middle Division in Pittsburgh (Monroeville) when it was “on tour” with the Greenburg shows. That’s probably been about 10 years ago, give or take. But what happened to it after that?
If I remember correctly, the N scale Clinchfield changed hands a couple of times before being on display with the Greenburg show. But what happened to it - and the other project layouts - that appeared in MR but then seemingly disappeared?
Do you have a copy of the track plan or can I get the Pennsy Middle Division Article online. I am a huge Pennsy fan. Used to lay in bed at my grandmothers and listen to the trains going around the curve.
Last I heard, the Pennsy Middle Division was in the hands of a gentleman from either MA or CT and was in the process of being rebuilt and upgraded. This same individual at one time also had owned MR’s much traveled, highly famous, N scale Clinchfield and the more recent HO scale Cactus Valley project layouts. I believe the former was subsequently sold privately, while the latter came up for bids on eBay not too long ago. Several other MR layouts are also in circulation.
