I rode the Platte Valley trolley (diesel powered) and visited the Forney Transporation Museum in Denver. The Forney Museum is home to one of the Union Pacific Big Boy locomotives.

Haven’t visited any yet this year, but Altoona is calling…[;)]

Rode the Heber Creeper Railroad in Heeber, Utah. It was hot but a very enjoyable ride.

I went to California in the Ocean side area no luck with freight traffic,I was of course
armed with a camera I think on the trip Az had the most traffic .I did in fact see the after math of a train wreck .The rolling stock was all bent up but besides that nothing exciting

I went to the California State Railroad Museum in Sacramento, and Railtown in Jamestown. You can’t find better railroad museums ANYWHERE.

It was a great training summer! First I rode from Rocky Mount,NC to NYP, spent some time in The Big Apple, then rode south in a sleeper to Savannah,GA to see my mom.
Next I rode from Rocky Mount to Toronto via NYP again. The run from NYP to TWO is spectacular. The Hudson River, the Erie Canal, the St. Lawerence seaway and then the prairies of Canada.
Finally, I visited the North Carolina Transportation Museum in Spencer. A very nice collection of rolling stock and other apparatus in an old roundhouse.

Horseshoe Curve, Gallitzin Tunnels, two nights at the Station Inn, Cresson, PA
and a visit to EBT and the adjacent streetcar museum. Time well spent.

Yep, took in both the San Diego Model RR in Balboa Pk and rode the summer train from Portland to Astoria and back.

My wife got me as a birthday present a day as a railroad engineer on a steam loco at the Maine Narrow Gauge Railroad museum in Portland, Maine. This museum has the largest selection of two foot Maine equipment in the country and is well worth a visit. I also had a great time running the engine.

Wife and I joined as family members…this year I we took the rules test and became student brakemen, I will reach my hours needed to become a full fledged Brakeman this coming weekend when Portola puts on Railfan Photographer Day…come and check it out. We will be putting togeher and running period trains. Portola CA WP LIVES!!!

I took the family to the Black Hills of SD and we rode the 1880 train in Keystone. It is a beautiful ride through the hills behind a compound steamer.

I had made plans to visit Sugar Creek, Ohio’s Ohio Central steam trains in July, but they ceased passenger operations in May.

I visited:

Orange Empire RR Museum
Western RR Museum in Barstow, California
Grand Canyon Railroad
Durango & Silverton
Colorado Railroad Museum
Atchison, Kansas RR Museum
Museum of Transport in St. Louis
Galesburg RR Museum

Regards from Missouri!

Burlington John

I made it to 2 of my favorites:
The Illinois Railway Museum in Union, IL (multiple times as it is nearby)
and to the Museum of Transport in St. Louis

I also really enjoyed seeing the Anheiser-Busch brewery tour but not only for the obvious reasons. I knew that Miller shipped by rail but I didn’t know that Budweiser shipped by rail or that they ship quite a large volume by rail. It could make for some interesting modeling!

MWV

While visitng our son in Colorado Springs we rode the Georgetown Loop and the Cripple Creek and Victor railroads, plus visited the Colorado RR Museum in Golden. A great trip.

Visited the Conway Scenic Railroad in North Conway, NH and Edaville RR in Carver MA

My daughter and I visited the museum in Galveston, Texas. We really enjoyed walking through the old cars. I also visited the Cotton Belt museum in the old depot in Pittsburg, Texas. Excellent exibits - would highly recomend.

While in England this summer had a chance to visit the Kent and South Essex Railroad. Very interesting tour

Rode Arkansas & Missouri passenger turn Van Buren - Winslow, AR & return. The old Alcos still pull well; friendly and informative crew and station personnel.
