What I did this weekend...

Hey All,

This weekend, after a long summer of not having time, I finally installed my DCC system. At first, it was tough…my new RSC-2 really showed me a few (3) rough spots in my track and they took some time fixing…especially my curved turnout (on a super-elevated turn…ugh! about 2 hours to shim it right…) But, I got them to work and now I LOVE it. I already have 2 DCC trains running and have a decoder for a third… This may delay my track laying, because it is SO darn fun to run my lionel challenger around with sound. And, my lil Kato RSC-2 isn’t bad either! Just gotta break them in…you know how it goes! Anyways, thanks for all the help along the way, guys… it is SWEET. I can’t wait until my son wakes up tomorrow and I show him the challenger… ooooh baby… can you say jaw drop? Heheh. Thanks again.

Brian

P.S. I went with the NCE Pro-cab 5 Amp system.

Welcome to the 21st Century. I still remember the day I started running my first DCC train. It was childhood train-running fun all over again.

Brian, Yep… Dcc is such a nice way to go. It is a pure joy when everything is running right. As you have found, track is very very important. I have RTR RS3 Athearn unit that gives me some trouble in a few areas. Like you, I ENJOY running the trains. I need to get over it and start some scenery and some buildings, but darn it’s so much fun! Good For You! Chris

The light in my son’s eyes as he heard the chuff and pushed the horn button on the cab was priceless… that alone makes building this all fun (I love it too…but that would be enough!!!) I have decided I must limit myself to a 1:4 ratio of running : building…
