Hey fellas, look at what I did to my Bachmann HO scale Dash 8-40CW:

thanks!

im reworking the lights on my spec dash 8 (narrow cab) also. I use DCC, Its going to have a LokSound decoder when I get it, but I have the lights done. I used much brighter LEDs than what come in it mounted midway in the shell with fiber optic fibers going to each light.

Very nice. That looks just like my 3 atlas dash 8 locomotives only mine came like that.

Well, mine doesn’t look as good as that:

Yep, it’s the dirty one. Not knowing about Atlas I bought this UP at me LHS, compared it to my other UP engines and say that the paint job was crap, so I decited to weather it hard. It runs great, better than my Athearns so I’m thinking of stripping down the paint and doing my paint job. I will also add more detail, and lights just like you have yours.

caz1491, that DASH 8’s looking pretty good![:D]

zgardner18, looks like your engine made it out of the fire just fine.[:D] Once all those burn marks are painted over, it’ll look like a new engine.[:D][:D][:D]

The lights look good for sure. Was this a test run without couplers to test the lights??

very nice indeed. I have two of these undecorated but I believe its th older version (ready for DCC) I am curious how I would go about running the wiring for lights and wha decoders I would need to to make the ditch lights to work. Thanks.

they both look good guys

It’s been pulling duty in Colorado with all of those tunnels. They just about lost it in the Moffat but the momentum pull it through. It’s ready for the shops.

I have a question about the ditch lights. Did yours come installed or did you install them and add the lights? If so how did you run the wires for them? My ditch lights would line up right behind the ladders in the front so you would see the wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
