O.K. since they are doing website maintanance this coming weekend, what do I do in case of an emergency with one of my Lionel 4-4-2’s? There is no Dr Lionel. Maybe its time for Onstar for Lionel engines.
The website will be up, just no authentication.
This will be a wide-open town where everyone can see everything on the trains.com websites, so get your jumbo bag of kettle corn and sit down in front of your computer for a weekend of fun.
Boyd, if you are making reference to the basic starter set Lionel 4-4-2, you have one of the best value, most reliable Lionel locomotives. I mean, nothing is impossible. BUT in 17 years I have never once ever had to send back one of these locomotives for any kind of service. And what little they have needed, I have been able to do myself. The same applies to my Lionel MPC and Williams locomotives, and my basic K-Line S-2’s, MP-15’s, Alco FA’s.
Given what I read on the internet, you are much more likely to have problems with more expensive, supposedly better locomotives. They say you get what you pay for, but in my experience with trains, less is actually far more!
Just like the Wild Wild West of yore, no sheriffs to stop the train robberies!!! YEEEE HAAWWW!![C):-)]
Yes, to paraphrase the saying “We don need no stinkin password”
…and if anxiety sets in you can dump out the bag of kettle-corn and breathe into same…[;)]
OH NO!!! I access my account daily. Can’t check my subscriptions to CTT and Trains. Will not be able to renew. Will not be able to purchase Kalmbach books and materials. How will I survive???
Just in case some of you did not know, that is a great service as close as your computer.
Does this mean if I start a big ugly argument that my posts can’t be deleted, that I cannot be banished from the CTT Forum, and that the carnage will continue unabated until Monday? [}:)] What topic can I choose to rile things up? [(-D] Let’s take a vote.

Nah, I can still go nuclear on’ya.
Bob…then I can assume I won’t have to mow the lawn, pull out the rhododendrums, and clean the algae in the kiddie pool today. I think 3,000 degrees will kill the kiddie pool algae problem. Too technical for me, need Bob Nelson’s input here. [swg]
