WHAT!? Intermountain planning a SP AC-12!?

I saw someone in the BLI yahoo group mention Intermountain Railway is plotting a Southern Pacific AC-12. All these years of waiting and now there might be 2 high end versions of this sweet locomotive. [yeah] PCM and IM. Is there any truth to this? Anyone got anymore info?

Intermountain is just doing alot to make good things happen aren’t they.

Here is the link to their website, Aggro, with the AC-12 on the home page:

I did not find any more information any deeper in their site.

It’s in newest MR and it’s on the MR website. Apparent first appearence at Trainfest(held somewhere in the 'burbs of Milwaukee).

Yay…another large steamer that no one has the curves for…

Ray:
I read that this version will have true articulation, meaning that one set of drivers will actually be rigidly attached to the boiler.

[D)] I should’ve checked their website…

I see alot of problems with that sample that MUST be fixed on the final model.

Oh, c’mon now, a few strands of wire between the boiler and tender never bothered anybody. [:o)]

The pre-production model was shown at the LA show last month, but it was not complete yet.

I emailed Intermountain and they replied the schedule should be announced in Jan or Feb of 06.

If it have BLI AC-4/5 good looking and sound it gone be a hit!
