For a factory installed DCC decoder I really dig my BLI Mountain. It is my only loco with a factory installed decoder. I also like the LL P2K GP-7 that I installed a Soundtrax LC100 sound decoder in. These decoders are selling pretty cheap right now and I’m gonna try to get a couple more. Installation isn’t that tough and I’m beginning to really like sound in my locos.

My Katos (AC4400 and SD70Mac - N scale) are the best running an love the action with the plug and play Digitrax decoders. Secondly my Atlas Mp15 with factory decoder. It is second only because the motor is simply not as smooth running as the Katos.

N scale Kato Mikado, especially after finally fitting in a chip. THe new N Scale Atlas locos (eg trainmaster) are great in terms of low speed and control. The lifelike SW1500 (n scale) with a lenz chip is also outstanding.
Don’t the decoders you use make difference?
