What is the most faded BNSF Dash 9 you have ever seen?

What is the most faded BNSF Dash 9 you have ever seen? Here’s mine from today: http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=105348

Close to that. The one that I saw was this kind of pale/pastel yellow. At first glance I thought it was a new paint scheme, but after looking at it for a second you could tell it was just really faded.

How about the warbonets that have turned pink. I’ve seen quite a few of them lately.

I haven’t seen a Pink Warbonnet yet, but I’ve seen pics of them.

I saw a H2 C44-9W at Cajon last weekend that had several pink panels behind the cab. It took me a few seconds to realize why they were pink!!! [8D]

I call Faded BNSF Dash 9’s “Pinkbonnets”. [:D]

Wouldn’t they be called “pukebonnets” because of the color.

The reason for the fading is for the faulty paint added before the delivery.BNSF is starting to repaint these engines back into H2 again. Maybe if they leave some that way for little while longer they will paint them into the new H3.

I photographed a BNSF SD70MAC BNSF 9947 DPU on an empty coal train in Omaha just like the one you photographed. You talk about a seriously faided out paint job.

How about barfbonnets? [:)] lol

Well, it isn’t faded to the point of being a prune.

I see BNSF dash 9’s all the time out here painted in just grey primer, they say NS on the side for some reason…?[:-^]

The last one!

I saw another “PInkbonnet” the same day third engine of a great lash-up. It consisted of a BNSF Warbonnet, an H2 BNSF Dash 9, a Super Faded Pinkbonnet, and a Santa Fe Warbonnet SD75M. [:)]

On Tehachapi Loop, I saw a train of BNSF diesels with one UP DASH-9. By the time it rounded the loop to where I was, I realized why there was a “UP” engine on a BNSF train…

Nice. I’ve always wanted to try Tehachapi. There’s so much good scenery! [:)]
