I will be going on the Lake Shore Limited in July for a trip to New York. Where is the New York Sleeping Cars at in the Train and the Dining Car , Lounge Car too. Is the Lake shore Limited a big train in the Summer.[?]
Anyone??
Usually the sleepers are at the front of the train, then the diner and lounge/cafe car, and then the coaches…similar to the rest of Amtrak trains…
I have not riddent the train recently, but I recall usually the Boston coaches and the Boston sleeper were together to simplify switching at Rensellear (Albany). Dave
The way I’ve usually seen this train is with a consist with the non-revenue cars (diner and lounge) in the middle, the coaches working out in each direction, then the sleepers and finally any mail & express at the outer ends. This arrangement probably facilitates combining or splitting the train at Albany/Renssalaer.
anyone else know the Standard train. Is new york section sleeping Cars up front beside the dorm car.
I would think sleepers are in the front or back and that it is a medium size train with about 8 passenger cars.
