What is this? - Second Question Added...

I found this on eBay, and was bidding on it, but lost because eBay appearantly doesn’t cooperate with my PSP’s internet browser. I was in a hotel and was trying to increase my max bid, but it just kept looping me through the log-in screen…

I don’t recognize the fan pattern at all, and I thought it looked like something I could use for a possible kitbash…Anyone have a clue what it is so that I may find another? Thanks.

It looks like a Frankenstein kitbash. The roof looks like a pair gp roofs grafted to 2 F unit steam hatches, the side are some F unit sides grafted front to front minus the cabs. So I guess it’s an FGP-B unit. From the pic, it looks well done. How’s that?

Looks like what you got there is a real genuine artificial imitation Falagaler* (FAH-LEG-AH-LER).

*Falagaler is a general term to describe something that doesn’t exactly have a clear description.

Forget the fans, look at the trucks, uh I mean drivers. It looks to be 4-8-2 [(-D] or 4=6-4 ???

yeah, its obviously a kitbash…

you can clearly see the line just to the left of the “Santa Fe” lettering…

its the rear of two F-units or E-units pasted together…making a model of no real prototype, and it appears to have 6-axle trucks…perhaps SD trucks.

IMO, its not worth $16.50!

and IMO it does not look well done…looks pretty bad to me. the photo is really blurry, yet the line where the two pieces are glued togtether stands right out…probably looks much worse when its in focus…

Are we looking at the same picture? What six axle truck has side rods? [#oops] My mistake.

I’ve questioned the seller, and he said it came from an Atlas “Long Hauler” set…

Any idea? I’ve never heard of such a thing and am having no luck searching for anything. All I can find is a Bachmann Long Hauler, but it has no B unit…

We already told you what it is…

it didnt come from any set…(well, maybe the original “donor units” of the kitbash did…but thats irrelevant really)

its not a “production” model…its a kitbash, a model of no real prototype.

its parts of two, or more, locomotives cut apart and glued back together.

It comes down to this…if you WANT it, BUY it. Just don’t be surprised at what you get.

What drivers? I can’t see them. My guess would have been an attempt at a Steam Genny.

My mistake, I was looking at the picture at the bottom of the original post.[#oops]
