I would like to know what your favorite railroad company is. Mine is Norfolk Southern, since I live a few miles from the NS Mainline
Currently Union Pacific; of all time Southern Pacific.
Nowadays, it’s the New England Central (since their tracks are 15 feet from where I’m sitting right now). Historically the B&M.
All railroads are great!!!, but I’d have to say, my all-time favorite is the Maine Central, which is now only a subsidiary of Guilford[:(]. Favorite of the present is the Maine Eastern(which uses trackage that once belonged to the Maine Central, now owned by the State of Maine).
Well, it says U.P. on my paycheck.
BNSF RAILWAY.
Always the Wisconsin Central
Hi Everyone,
Well My favourite is CSX with NS a close second but an old fav would be DRGW cos you gotta love those Tunnel Motors, yeah I know that SP and Cotton Belt had them too.
My favorites would be NS, followed by BNSF, because they seem to be getting it right. Of all time? ATSF.
My all time favorite is without a doubt the Southern Pacific. That is of course before the UP swallowed them hole. In for a very close second is, the Rock Island.
Hey Mainecentral, from where in the Pinetree State do you call home? Up in the county, perhaps?
Guilford Rail… [:p]
Southern Pacific Lines
For me it is the BNSF of all time the ATSF. Santa Fe the first compant to order a double decker long haul passenger car.
Wisconsin Central then SOO. But WC for sure.
Alec
right now, there is a tie between NS&CSX. I also have a shortline near where I live (New Hope and Ivyland). Of all time though, I have to say 4 of them 1) the GREAT PRR 2) The Lehigh Valley, 3) The Norfolk & Western, and 4) The New York Central.
The Gainsville Midline (Between Athens and Gainsville GA)
