So far this weekend I don’t have anything planned. I have a couple of P2K UP GP-9’s I may do some weathering on. If I do I’ll post some pics[;)]! There are always things like installing KD’s that happens all through my week. Of course some clean up jobs, rear handrails(U28-C) Rear # boards Riogrande(GP-40), I have been trying to figure out why my UP U30-C keeps climbing the rail[V]?? Anyway I will find a hundred things to do and maybe accomplish 2 or 3. Ah yes, the life of the model railroader.
Here’s one of the projects I did manage this weekend, this one is a GP-35 SP Dummy unit, it got some wearhering and a shot of Dullcoat. I’ll be working on the Powered unit tonight.
Yep that’s My 74 Z-28 in the background, it’s hittin the auction block soon.(E-Bay) where else would I sell it[:D]
Putting on some scenery and contemplating a nasty buckle in my ballasted track. Family coming next week so I want to get it looking of. Since the train still makes it through the damaged area with just some bad rocking repairs will have to wait until after they leave.
nothing planned for this weekend , i’m kind of waiting for my tsunami to arrive to see if i can cram it into my MDC old-timer 2-6-0 before i do any more with it . i really should paint and detail the body and tender , but somehow getting it running with dcc seems to be something i want to finish before doing anything else with it
I’m balasting about 10’ of track i put through an existing mountain on my new layout.
Have I ever mentiond HOW MUCH I HATE BALLASTING!!!(post pleading for ballasting help to follow). No pics yet. (I’m waitng on my benchwork pics to come back from Wally world)[banghead]
Ripping up some main line track and a siding to replace a defective turnout.Electricity does not travel through it anymore. My trains come to a screetching halt at this switch. If I fiddle with it,the train continues on until it comes to this switch again.Any suggestions? I need HELP![?][?][?]

I went upstairs after about a 4 month absence started gathering all my tools.
While doing this, I found my Dad’s ancient 0-6-0 Mantua steamer in a box & got it working after about 25 years in the scrap line.
All I need to do now is fix his/my brass 0-4-0 Dockside & I’ll be an even happier camper.
Painting the first of my Peachcreek Shops 168 ton bottle cars… Since this is the start of my weekend. I hope to assemble the car tomorrow or tuesday. .
I don’t think he has a problem with it.
All of my Dad’s stuff I still consider his even though he willed it to me when he died.
I’ve posted a pic of it.
I don’t think it’s too bad considering its older than me.
I was traveling to my LHS on Saturday. I was about 10 miles away when my van broke down. My weekend project was to add my final siding to my layout. Instead I spent 6 1/2 hours in the garage between towing the van back to my city, and watching my van get diagnosed. Sunday I went to get caught up on my other projects and had a dead battery. I will go on Monday to the LHS, but I will take my cellphone this time! Maybe I can accomplish ONE thing positive this weekend on Monday! GEEZ sometimes it just doesn’t pay to get out of bed!
SierraRR - Do you have the Walthers blast furnace and other steel mill structures? I’m a steel mill modeler myself!
Well there wasn’t much time that I could call “my own” this weekend, but on Saturday I managed to sneak out to a real lumber yard [e.g. NOT Home Depot] and pick up four 8x4 sheets of light blue extruded foam insulation. Then this afternoon, I sliced two of them lengthwise and propped them vertically for use as view blockers. I know I’ll eventually have to paint them, but I love how the blue resembles open sky with zero effort - at least on the un-labeled side. The remaining two sheets were left intact; I drilled a few holes in them and hung them over the cluttered shelves. Again, not perfect but a big improvement over the exposed shelves!
