Seeing the thread on front couplers for BLI locos got me thinking about most of my brass steam. Most of my locomotives have the cast-in draft gear pocket, with a dummy coupler screwed in, and it is almost immovable from side to side.
I’ve converted my Tenshodo GN F-8 consolidation with a #4, with a screw through the coupler, and through creative filing managed to get some side to side movement. The coupler droops, though, so, I’ll have to shim up under the shank.
I’m curious what some other folks have done with their brass steam.
