What kind of camera do you use?

I thought I would be interesting to see what kind of camera everyone uses. I personally use 2 cameras, my iPhone, which has a 2.2 MegaPixel camera, and Canon E1040 10 MegaPixel. What do you use?

Most of the time, a Canon F-1, F-1N(have two of them), or T90. I have a dozen lenses, from 20mm through 400mm, to fit these cameras.

I also regularly use a Rolleiflex(Automat 3) and a Rolleicord(Va).

For general snap shot use, I have a little Canon A540 digicam. It’s a somewhat older model, but does offer full manual controls, including focusing(which is very unusual in a digicam).

I don’t plan on upgrading cameras any time soon. The little A540 fulfills my snapshot needs, and the more serious exquipment, despite being old(20-30 years for the Canons, 50-60 for the Rolleis) works quite well.

Nikon. A real nice new one thanks to US Airways [one of their baggage employees stole my old one].

Canon Digital Rebel EOSxt 8 Megapixel

Nikon D70s. Have a couple of different lens and filters.

A Stereo Realist from the 1950’s, which takes photos in 3-D. Stereo photography is my “other hobby”. It’s neat seeing your layout (and everything else) in 3-D. I also have made a video “tour” of my layout, which is great for showing the animations. Joe

A Nikon D80. I just wish I knew how to use half the features of this thing. [:P]

Kodak, Z-712is. It can shoot up to 7mp and it is what I used to capture short videos like the Hogwarts Express.

Cannon S2

For pics that aren’t going to be saved for posterity, a Cannon PowerShot S70 (7 megapixel). For pics I want to save for posterity, a Nikon F5 35mm.

No kidding! I collect stereo “everyday family” slides from the 1940’s-50’s. The Kodachrome film is still perfect. I sometimes wonder about the digital photos being taken today. Not that they won’t last…just how people will be able to view them (or even know they exist to view). Joe

olympus E510. bought this so I could use all the olympus lenses I have from my film camera. a real shame the film cameras are pretty much valueless today.

Actually, it’s already been discovered that prints made from digital pictures have a pretty short life expectancy when compared with conventional film. Plus there is always the worry that formats in use today to view them may not exist in 20 years. Perfect examples of this are the Betamax video tape and large-size laservision discs. Heck, it’s already getting hard to find stores that sell VHS tape for recording. The neat thing is 35MM cameras that used to cost a LOT of $$$$ back when they were new are now selling for a LOT LESS on E-Bay and they are in super nice condition. No way I could have afforded a Nikon F5 back when it first came out in 1996. But I got a lightly used one that looks and functions like new for $500.

canon film rebel or an old kodak easyshare 4 MP

Nikon D70s, amazing camera. I’ve had it two years and I’m VERY pleased.

I use my Fuji FinepixF-20Se.Takes great pix and well worth the 180 bones I paid for it!

An old Olympus OM-1. What a camera! I’ve had it for over 30 years.

So you scan your pictures to upload them? They look pretty good to be scanned.

I’ll second Magicman’s comments. Your pictures are fantastic.

John

For Sunday Photo Fun I now use a Sony Cybershot. But the OM-1 is all manual, old school. And I used to print to paper and then scan the prints for uploading.
