Now that I’m living in the “sticks” I get to see all kinds of critters and varmints out my way: deer, turkeys, silver and red fox, coyote all kinds of birds, opossums, racoons, squirrels and of course, dogs and cats.
I think I will add some of the above to my layout. It’s fun to hide them in a clump of trees or an out of the way area so that guests, especially children can hide them. I hope to find (or make) a couple of dachshunds to represent Misty & Rocky, the wonder weiner dogs, and give them a prominent place near a fire hydrant (or food!) [:D]
No critters yet. Since I’m going to be doing NS, think the part going through Ohio will have two critters. Buckeye and Tom. [;)] I know Tom has some scattered all over his layout. I’m sure Jimbo does too.
The usual cattle, horses, and dogs with a few elk on the mountain. Luckily the only scorpions I find are dead and on the floor. Though there are a lot of mouse droppings in the garage area of the barn I haven’t found any sign of mice in the train room.
I want to add a dauschund too - for Rudy the wonder weiner dog. And a possum. Right now I have a one-antlered moose - and an assortment of Britains and ancient Lionel farm animals - plus a collie in his doghouse.
I got lucky and found an owl and beaver—Perfect O Scale-- in my kids toys…very nice next to the plasticville cabin…Also a couple of gray wolves for a little higher up the mountain…sorry no pics yet…Dan
Well the only intentional ones that I have right now are some reindeer. Then the unintentional and intermitant…little dogs and cats of visiting friends…
real dogs and cats!
Well, ya never guess what was in my mountain this morning!! I was adding plaster around a little cave area & out came a little black spider!! HA![:)],WELL," HE IS NOW SET IN STONE ", AS they say!! I wonder if he was in the critter catagory. And here I thought I wouldn’t have anything for this subject! Thanks, John
I have some farm animals I will set out when I build my farm scene. One time, I trapped my neighbor’s (real) cat in my layout room . When I got in from work that night, she heard me and started meowing really loud so I would let her out. Her paw prints are on my control panel to this day.
