I have the Scenic Ridge Track Pack, and plan to design all of the scenery and such by myself. However, I would like to replace some rails with Flex Track to expand and make it easier for myself. Will the Atlas Flex Track available on Internettrains.com work? What should I get to make sure that it is the same code and everything as what I already have?
Seems like you may need to supply a bit more information before folks can give an accurate reply. I’m not familiar with the Scenic Ridge Track Pack, but have used Flex Track for years.
What Scale are you (Is Scenic Ridge N?)
If N, “what I already have” is probably Code 80. On the underside of the ties should be the manufacturer’s markings. Can you tell us what these say?
If you can give more details, it’s quite possible that someone will be able to supply the help you are asking for.
Good luck with this project.
Atlas makes very dependable flextrack, in both HO and N scales, in multiple rail sizes. Any of these Atlas flextrack products will be fine for virtually any layout you want to build.
Yes, but I want to make sure that it doesn’t look awkward, and that’s why I want to get the same kind of track as the Scenic Ridge pack is. Scenic Ridge is N Scale, and I grabbed a 5 in. Straight piece, and it said “Atlas, N Gauge, Made In USA, No. 250, A” I think that the “A” is the kind of track it is. Does this help?
You can look the numbers up to make sure on the Atlas website. I don’t remember the numbers. If the ties are black you have Code 80, if they are brown you have Code 55.
Most likely what you have is Code 80.
It is the only flex track I have ever used. I am sure some people have a preference. You may want to look at flex manufactured by Peco.
Atlas Code 80 is tried and true as far as I am concerned and a great product.
Postdog, I’d go with what TVRR has said. So long as the ties are black, you’ve got code 80.
Good luck with this. The Atlas flex is all I’ve needed.
