what kind of glue to use

I am building a boxcar from a pullout from GR and i have to know what kind of glue to use on the wood and what kind of glue to use on the details i got from ozark thanks jmozz

Recently there was an article on glues on GR. Did you see that one? I use “Weldbond” white glue for just about everything. Please note that it is NOT waterproof. Can’t leave stuff out in the rain or it will fall apart. Check with your local Home Depot and see what they have. All I can say is there are tons on the market so read the labels. They even have carpenters glue that is waterproof but It does not dry clear…I believe only yellow. Check it out. Later eh…Brian.

I use Tightbond II but now Tighbond just came out with a better waterproof glue that can sit underwater if need be.

IMHO tightbonds waterproof is trying to compete with Gorilla glue. I like Titebonds #1 and #2 but Gorilla Glue is better than Titebonds waterproof. Like I said In my opinion.

Yeah Matt I used and sell Gorilla Glue. When I used it I was unhappy but a letter came in the mail to see how dealers displayed there product. It said you could win a Gorilla Glue Bobble Head and Tee Shirt.
I won… lol
I kept the bobble head and gave the tee to my aunt but the buttons they sent one to dad, one to aunt and one to me…oh yeah they sent a koozie too.
Very nice people.

My dad just did a project that spec. for Gorilla Paint. He said it was some tought stuff.

Bluebonnet71, I have found that Gorilla glue works best in these following ways for success. For fast setting mist materials with spray bottle. Keep acetone around for cleanup when it’s wet. If it expands out of the joint and you don’t want to smear it, wait till its dry and carefully scrap or cut it away with a utility knife or sharp chizzel. Also those great disposable gloves are a necessesity unless you don’t mind letting it wear off.
