If your layout has a large city station area, or areas, which station building (s) do you use ?
In my case I have a 4 track city stub end station with Marx/K-Line platforms and an American Flyer Union Station as the station building. I based the track configuration on the former CNJ station in downtown Newark, NJ, the first placed I ever “railfaned”.
Being an O Gauge fan all of my life, I never knew American Flyer made this station until a few years ago, but it’s size is perfect for an O gauge layout, and I think it’s the only example of a more modern city station ever made.
Mine large station is not a massive Union Station type, its my scratch built version of the station in Glenwood Springs, CO. It’s about 36" long, 12" deep, and with the towers at least 12" high. Eventually, there should be photos of my layout in CTT. The artical keeps getting moved back.
Don’t know if this qualifies as “large,” but I kitbashed two Plasticville Union stations, adding a “wing” on either side of the main building, making it about 15-17" long.
I have (2) of the #115 reissued stations and though they are large for O scale I always liked them and of course as a kid could not afford the original. Mine was a plasticville station and is still used on my layout today.
