I will be driving over to Oklahoma and going to GATS in Tulsa this weekend. What LHS are still in existance in that area that would be worth going to? Addresses and/or directions would be appreciated.
After wondering around in another large city and finding all my usual LHS stops gone, I decided I better ask the experts. That means you folks! [:D]
Can’t say for Tulsa, but in Oklahoma City there is Woodward’s and Whistle Stop. Woodward’s is my preference, but that’s just my opinion. If you think you might head that way, drop me an e-mail through the forum, and I’ll get you some numbers and directions.
Wings n’s Things - 5241 S. Peoria Tulsa, OK (918-745-0034)
Hobby Town USA - 7166 S. Memorial - on the southwest corner of the intersection on Memorial, (buried back in that mall, and a little hard to find tho).
tyco ryan, are you sure about the LHS listed above? I know Challenger moved recently (and I couldn’t find it) and one of those was closed on my last trip. I appreciate the phone numbers, too! We’ll see where I end up!
There is also Top Shelf in Owasso, off hwy 169 and 71st on Main st… , 119 S. Main St. 274-0433. I also will be at GATS, Maybe we could meet each other, my home is only 10minutes away from Conv. Ctr.
Bob, I’ll be easy to spot at GATS. Just look for the brown haired, 5-6, spectacled, slightly overweight gentleman slobbering on himself while eyeing all the latest goodies and convulsively fingering his checkbook.
You did not mention what scale you model, but if it is HO the best LHS is Action Hobbies. It is located behind the Walgreens on the northeast corner of 51st and Memorial.
Action Hobbies is the best shop in Tulsa for Ho trains and supplies. Most of the other hobby shops are 90% RC planes and RC cars…both very big in the Tulsa area.
